Ok, I am a Luddite it seems with this. I live in Ontario Canada – I have High speed internet via Rogers cable plus an (expensive) TV plan (The VIP Program) again through Roger’s cable.
I am tired of paying $90 per month for Television which I am finding for the most part – boring.
Yesterday I heard on the news people are cancelling their Television service and watching TV on line.
My questions:
1. How or what exactly is available on line. What URL or websites . I have no idea (again Luddite)
2. What do I do with my existing Computer – I have 3 computers in total with a hub connected to the main computer upstairs and then wireless connections that allow me to use the other two computers in the household.
There is one cable running from the outside into the house. The cable is plugged into the modem – the modem connected to the hub. This is upstairs.
3. Finally, I have a 40" LCD TV which currently has a separate cable running from the outside to the livingroom. But if I cancel that service, how would I connect the TV to the computer (the Hub and modem connection is upstairs – the TV is downstairs in the living room)
It seems very confusing and I’m wondering if I should just cut back on my Cable TV programming instead.
Any advice or help is appreciated.
Thanks. I didnt think there was much on-line. But at least now I know where to look.
